What An Opportunity; On Tour For 4 Months

I have performed for many different bands in the Phoenix Metro area over a number of years. Recently I began to work with the 2 In The Chest. This band was formed to give total entertainment not just great music, but an entire performance for you to remember your entire life. And most importantly spread autism awareness world-wide. We are best described as “The World’s Only Rustic Outlaw Southern Metal Band.”

Starting in late spring I have the wonderful opportunity to do a; 4 month, over 10,000 mile, 42 state, more than 70 event tour with the 13 people who make up the two bands, 2 In The Chest and Brace 4 Impact. The tour is called 2017 Awareness Tour and we will be bringing “Awareness” to the plight of the growing number of homeless veterans and the epidemic of children diagnosed with autism.

We are dropping our lives in Arizona to head out on this tour to bring mass awareness and at the same time filming a Reality show, for you, our supporters, a day-by-day look into this epic experience.

As 2 In The Chest’s manager and a performer, I can only say I really look forward to being part of this adventure. It will truly be a real high point in my life. Over the coming days we will be improving our tour’s web presence and keeping you up-to-date on our schedule and sponsor opportunities and goals.

You can see from the map that follows how impressive the plan for the Awareness Tour 2017 is. The logistics of this tour are quite complex and we are working to head-off any problems, foreseen or un-foreseen, that may arise.

My Character Bibe Boanne Darby appears to the right.

We have an up coming performance opening for the Finnish group Lordi on February 9th at Club Red in Mesa. Please consider purchasing the tickets from members of 2 In The Chest at just $25. Brought to you by.13th Floor Entertainment.

Wishing All My Family and Friends Happy New Year

A fresh new year is once again upon us. It’s the time to be thankful for the blessings of the past year and to take stock of all our achievements. At the same time, New Year 2017 is a brand new year to start afresh, to start strong, and yet another chance to do everything we want to do this year.

Celebrate New Year's Eve

How do you celebrate New Year's Eve?

In the Gregorian calendar, New Year's Eve (also known as Old Year's Day or Saint Sylvester's Day in many countries), the last day of the year, is on December 31 which is the seventh day of the Christmas season. In many countries, New Year's Eve is celebrated at evening social gatherings, where many people dance, eat, drink alcoholic beverages, and watch or light fireworks to mark the new year. Some people attend a watch night service. The celebrations generally go on past midnight into January 1st (New Year's Day).

Samoa, Tonga and Kiritimati (Christmas Island), part of Kiribati, are the first places to welcome the New Year while American Samoa and Baker Island in the United States of America are among the last.

In the United States, New Year's Eve is celebrated with formal parties, family-oriented activities, and other large public events.

One of the most prominent celebrations in the country is the "ball drop" held in New York City's Times Square. Inspired by the time balls that were formally used as a time signal, at 11:59 p.m. ET, an 11,875-pound 12-foot diameter Waterford crystal ball located on the roof of One Times Square is lowered down a pole that is 70 feet high, reaching the roof of the building 60 seconds later to signal the start of the New Year. The Ball Drop has been held since 1907, and in recent years has averaged around a million spectators annually. The popularity of the spectacle also inspired similar "drop" events outside of New York City, which often use objects that represent a region's culture, geography, or history—such as Atlanta's "Peach Drop", representing Georgia's identity as the "Peach State". Alongside the festivities in Times Square, New York's Central Park hosts a "Midnight Run" event organized by the New York Road Runners, which culminates in a fireworks show and a race around the park that begins at midnight.

Radio and television broadcasts from festivities in New York helped to ingrain aspects of them in American pop culture; beginning on the radio in 1928, and on CBS television from 1956 to 1976 with ball drop coverage, Guy Lombardo and his band, The Royal Canadians, presented an annual New Year's Eve broadcast from the ballroom of New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. The broadcasts were best known for the Royal Canadians' signature performance of "Auld Lang Syne" at midnight, which made the standard synonymous with New Year's in the United States. Following Lombardo's death in 1977, ABC's competing program New Year's Rockin' Eve succeeded the Royal Canadians as the dominant New Year's Eve special on television. Its creator and host Dick Clark intended the program to be a modern and youthful alternative to Lombardo's big band music. Including ABC's special coverage of the year 2000, Clark would host New Year's Eve coverage on ABC for 33 straight years. After suffering a stroke, Clark ceded hosting duties in 2005 to talk show host Regis Philbin, and retired as full-time host in 2006 in favor of Ryan Seacrest due to a speech impediment caused by the stroke. Clark continued to make appearances from a studio on the program annually until his death in 2012.

Notable celebrations occur in other cities as well. On the Las Vegas Strip, the streets are closed to vehicle traffic on the evening of New Year's Eve, and a large fireworks show is held at midnight which spans across multiple resort buildings. Major theme parks may also hold New Year's celebrations; Disney theme parks, such as Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland in Anaheim, California, are traditionally the busiest during the days up to and including New Year's Eve. Los Angeles, a city long without a major public New Year celebration, held an inaugural gathering in Downtown's newly completed Grand Park to celebrate the beginning of 2014. The event included food trucks, art installations, and light shows, culminating with a projection mapping show on the side of Los Angeles City Hall near midnight. The inaugural event drew over 25,000 spectators and participants. In 2015, Chicago held Chi-Town Rising, the city's first ever outdoor New Year's Eve festival on the Magnificent Mile. The event was hosted by Mario Lopez with musical guests American Authors and Chicago. Nearly 100,000 people attended the inaugural event.

Finland's Lordi In The Valley Of The Sun

Don't miss your chance to see Lordi, the world renown Finnish group, on their world tour they will be at Club Red in Mesa on Thursday, February 9, 2017 Great News! Tickets are just $25.00. Contact Rizzi  rizzi@rizzi.rocks or Rich rbjm.dbms@live.com to get the tickets. As a perfect western theme 2 In The Chest will be opening for Lordi.

I look forward to the show as both a fan of Lordi and also a performer and manager of the 2 In The Chest group.

Some background about Lordi for those who are curious. Lordi are a Finnish hard rock heavy metal band, formed in 1992 by the band's lead singer, songwriter and costume maker, Mr Lordi. In addition to their melodic metal music, Lordi are also known for wearing monster masks and using horror elements with pyrotechnics during concerts and music videos. Lordi rose to fame in 2002 with their hit single, "Would You Love a Monsterman?".

The band made history in 2006 by becoming the first, and still today the only, hard rock act and Finnish artist to win the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song "Hard Rock Hallelujah".
Photographer Albin Olsson
Lordi has toured around the world actively since 2002. The band records a new studio album in 2–3 years cycle and at the same time Mr Lordi upgrades the costumes and masks of the band.

Monstereophonic were released in Fall of 2016. The band has gone through several line-up changes, but original members Mr Lordi and guitarist Amen are still active with the band.

Lordi's Music Style

Their music is formed of hard rock and heavy metal music elements. The band's horror-related albums, the monster costumes worn by all band members, and the horror elements of their performances are hallmarks of shock rock. The band was mostly influenced by KISS, but also by Alice Cooper and Twisted Sister.

The band members are Mr. Lordi (vocals), Mr. Amen (guitar), Mr. Ox (bass), Mr. Mana (drums) and Ms. Hella (keyboards).

Although the band is often perceived by the media as a heavy metal band due to their monster costumes, their musical style has more characteristics of the hard rock genre. Over the years, the band's musical style has taken a very varied direction between hard rock and metal, with the pattern seeming as though it changes between the two with every album released. Their debut album, Get Heavy, represented a large part of traditional hard rock music, but by the release of their The Monsterican Dream album in 2004, the band had shifted considerably toward heavier music and horror effects were prominently displayed. However, in their 2006 album The Arockalypse, Lordi shifted back toward hard rock, eschewing horror themes and special effects. Their 2008 studio album, Deadache, included more typical horror elements, leaning once again toward the heavier side of the spectrum. Babez For Breakfast saw the band once again shift back to the traditional hard rock elements, with an even greater exposure to the 1980s than the band's previous albums. To Beast or Not to Beast focuses completely on heavy metal, and was the band's heaviest album. Their 2014 album, Scare Force One, contains elements of heavy metal while still maintaining the melodic rhythm of hard rock.

Members of Lordi have stated their desire for their unmasked faces to remain private. However, they have made a number of unmasked appearances in several news outlets.

Costumes And Masks

Amen's outfits are designed by his character "The Mummified Pharaoh".
Lordi members have stated that their costumes were inspired by Kiss and the horror genre. Mr Lordi himself has said that without Kiss, Lordi probably would not exist. The monster masks and costumes the band use are made of foam latex, with some other materials like canvas, metal and leather. The masks and costumes of Lordi are all and always made by Mr Lordi himself. As a professional make-up artist and sculptor, Mr Lordi has the necessary knowledge to produce those things easily. The band members do each other's makeup. The band updates their outfits and masks for each new album.
It takes the other band members about one hour to put their masks and costumes on, though it takes Mr Lordi two to three hours to put on his. He has also said that the materials for suits costs "hundreds of dollars".

The monster costumes are such an integral part of Lordi's publicity image that they refuse to be photographed or even interviewed without them, even if in some cases it leads to their own discomfort. Lordi has done interviews without their masks but the interviews are always filmed from the back so that their faces are not visible. Previously during interviews, Lordi members spoke only English to the cameras, not their native Finnish. In a brief segment on the BBC reporting about the band attending the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, they were shown lounging beside a pool in full sunlight, while wearing their monster costumes.

Lordi’s Stage Show

Pyrotechnics, and horror elements are important parts of Lordi's stage show, designed and mostly created by Mr Lordi. The horror elements are largely derived from horror movies with some influence from Alice Cooper. Their stage platform is also equipped with monster actors, zombies, dolls, tricks, and sometimes stage dancers. Mr Lordi is also known to use a two-headed axe.

In 2009 the band made some new special effects with big help from Weta Workshop of New Zealand. The workshop has also designed scenery for movies such as The Lord of the Rings, King Kong and 30 Days of Night.

Lordi Appears For Media Always In The Masks.

Despite the band's strict approach in relation to their costumes, multiple newspapers have published more or less fake photos of the band members without makeup. On 15 March 2006, the Finnish tabloid Ilta-Sanomat published a photograph of Mr Lordi in civilian clothing, with his face partially showing. On 22 May 2006, the Daily Mail published what was believed to be an old picture of the band without their makeup or masks. It was later revealed that the band in the photo was actually Children of Bodom, a different band altogether. This was acknowledged on Children of Bodom's official website. The photograph did feature Enary, Lordi's former keyboard player. However, Enary left Lordi in 2005, well before the picture in the newspaper. On the same day, Bild-Zeitung, a German tabloid, published what they claimed was a photograph of Mr Lordi without his mask in its section "Bild Uncovered" with the headline "He is the Grand Prix Monster: All of Germany discusses the Ugliest Winners of all Time". Many other European tabloids and newspapers have published the same or similar photographs.

On 24 May 2006, the Finnish tabloid magazine Seven Days published an old picture of Mr Lordi's face on the front page, and two days later another tabloid, Katso! ("Look!"), published unmasked pictures of the other four band members. Both magazines were heavily criticised by their readers for publishing these pictures, which led to swift apologies from both magazines and promises not to publish unmasked pictures of Lordi anymore. On 26 May 2006, video footage was shown on television in Lithuania. It featured four men dressed in black, sitting by the table at the airport in Athens. After a few seconds, Heikki Paasonen (the Eurovision Finnish commentator) in a black Lordi shirt came and stood in front of the camera, covering the view.

Tributes

Lordi's Square, in the center of Rovaniemi, Finland, the hometown of the lead singer Mr Lordi, was renamed shortly after the band's victory at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was part of a redevelopment of Rovaniemi city center. After the Eurovision victory, all the members of the line-up at the time got tributes from their hometowns.

Itella, the Finnish postal service, issued a Lordi postage stamp in May 2007 in recognition of their Eurovision win. Itella had already released Lordi's Christmas single, "It Snows in Hell" in a special Christmas card edition.

A brand of soda, "Lordi Cola", was named after them and was launched in September 2006, featuring labels designed by Mr Lordi, several depicting individual members and one featuring the whole band.

Mark Thursday February 9th on your calendars and see Lordi Live. That is at Club Red 1306 West University Drive, Mesa AZ 85201. West Theater Brought to you by 13th Floor Entertainment.

Adult Crusing Anyone?

Have you thought that a cruise sounds nice, but ... Ok, the idea of being trapped at sea with a thousand screaming kids isn't your idea of fun... Somebody at Carnival knows just what you need, and it's pretty much exactly the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat. Look, you'll still be on the same ship as the kids, the hoopla, and all the Carnival-style excitement… but you could easily forget, because when you’re at Serenity you could not be further from it all.

The world you'll find yourself in is one of complete peace, sea breezes, swaying hammocks and, of course, a nearby bar. It's the place to get done the kind of stuff you just can't seem to do anywhere else — reconnect with your partner, finish that book, or do absolutely, blissfully, nothing at all.

Does that sound better?  Wonder just what they have to offer you and your partner? Well what follows are just some of the highlights.

Cloud 9 Spa
Sometimes you just need to get away… from all that vacation. Seriously? Look, we know that sitting at home now, it’s hard for you to imagine wanting a vacation from your vacation, but trust us — it’s nice to have a place to unwind after the day’s excitement, to escape to a world designed from the ground up for relaxation. Cloud 9 Spa staff are masters — no, artists — trained in the craft of simply helping you chill. What’s their secret? Massages, facials, body wraps and more — these are the tools of the trade… and the trade is ultimate relaxation.

Twister Waterslide
Above the ship you'll find the shining sun, but that's not all — basking in its rays is a gleaming symbol of fun, a monument to merriment... a sign of splashy-good times to come. Spot the spiraling Twister Waterslide atop your Carnival ship and you can be sure that your vacation comes complete with twists, turns and squeals of thrilled delight. Countless gallons of water course through the entire length of this slide, so you're by no means dry when you start, but by the time you reach the end — hundreds of feet later — you reach new levels of soaking, splashing down in that classic waterslide photo-finish: hands-up, eyes wide and nothing but exhilaration on your face.

Thirsty? There is a bar to quench your thirst with juices, soda, adult beverages, and more. The bar hours are from 8 AM – 10 PM each are on your cruise. If you are considering a Carnival Cruise and want to get away from the main crowd anytime during your cruise, consider heading up to the Serenity Retreat.
